There is nothing in what you say to suggest the ultimate lesson. I suppose one could imagine that the country, left to its devices, might starve, and therefore get out of its misery, but otherwise, there will always be markets, even if "black", and the ability to exploit and obtain guns and privileges...........

The thugs in Africa would not have been able to maintain power without the West selling them the guns (or is it your position that guns don't kill people, people do it so it is ok for us to sell those brutal regimes all the guns they want?).

Minor point, but the weapons of choice are AK-47's and RPG's - not exactly Western.

We have plenty of things to be guilty about without inventing new ones.
