actually i'm impressed that the gpu was smart enough to turn off parts of it when it heated up.
yes it's a dell lcd at 1600x1200. i hate reading all those pdfs i get from kresge library on anything smaller. fx5200 supports this resolution on dvi at 60hz. with an lcd 60hz hasn't been a problem for me and i've been extremely sensitive to anything less than 80hz on a crt (with bad headaches). of the half a dozen fx5200 cards i have seen in fry's, none come with out a fan alas. i haven't looked at ati as they have nothing close to the price of fx5200 with dvi and dx9 which was one of my requirements as i hope to be on FS2003 beta.
