Yes the author is a professor.... LOL He had figured out the dems are out to lunch. But his own framing of who conservatives are is also out to lunch. He tried to hard and seemed to have hit his head on his own frame.

Chronicle Advertisers have been manipulating language forever. It's alarming to read the extent to which the right has used this form of mind control. It's been very effective because Bush supporters still believe that invading Iraq to "stop terrorism" and "find wmds" and "liberate the Iraqis from oppression" and "we're winning". All of which is bunk and most of which has been debunked by the WH itself. Rumsfled appeared on Meet the Press Sunday and told Tim Russert we're winning the war on terrorism in Iraq.

Absolutely great -- this issue has been worked over for decades by those who control the language of debate. Until the Democrats understand this, they are worse than useless, since they simply act as a foil for the Republican script of looting the treasury, and mobilizing Americans into the mechanics of serfdom. Simply the facts will work, if anyone in the opposition or media can mouth them: Since Bush took office, American is becoming less safe and weaker worldwide and domestically, the economy is being destroyed, our military is useless without moral leadership, and more force simply creates more enemies. Our political leaders don't even believe their own propaganda, and hide all documentation of their thievery.
