But has it been established that AS believes what she asserts to be facts?

Her professed love of socialism leads me to believe that she is just utilizing the tools that historically and necessarily go with it -- propaganda and lies.

AS reveals his own political leanings:

Political wars are always fought in the middle. I am not left-wing. I consider myself a 40% liberal-40% moderate-20% conservative. But the 20% conservative in me is alarmed by what conservatives these days think is conservative.

Main Entry: 4lie
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English lige, lie, from Old English lyge; akin to Old High German lugI, Old English lEogan to lie
Date: before 12th century
1 a : an assertion of something known or believed by the speaker to be untrue with intent to deceive b : an untrue or inaccurate statement that may or may not be believed true by the speaker
2 : something that misleads or deceives
3 : a charge of lying

I believe AS fits quite well into definition 3
