Just curious, do you have the breakdown for debt interest, entitlement programs and discretionary spending in those years?

Both the entitlement programs and discretionary non-defense spending are non-defense spending. Technically debt payments are as well but you have a point there because 1 - Some of that debt was for defense spending and 2 - A lot of it was interest on debts that occurred before Clinton came to office. I think ideally the comparison should exclude interest (or better yet if you can do it, exclude interest on the portion of the debt that was passed on by previous administrations) but in dealing with this specific point there is no reason to separate discretionary and entitlement spending.
