Then he left the preacher standing there, open mouthed, with a thought up scripture dangling from his lips....... << the story you brought up does raise a valid point, but i would like to offer a distinction if i may. there is a major difference between a message board and how you relate to people in real life. in face to face contact, if i spouted scripture every other sentence people would be forced to listen to my babbling. that very well could be an imposition on them. they might not want to hear it. on a message board however, people can choose to come to it whenever they so desire. so if they are not in a mood to have scriptures thrown at them they don't have to read the messages. furthermore, they can simply gloss over or scan my messages real quick. if they are interested they can devote their attention to the whole post. they can save the message and come back and read it at a later date. there are all kinds of conveniences to a message board that make it far less of an imposition on people than simply battering them with scriptures in everyday conversation. that is why if you met me in person i would not drone on and on with scriptures flying out of my mouth. >> When I asked you my first question, you quoted me scripture, "Thou hast said" rather than answer me. << can you please find this post for me? i don't ever recall answering a question of yours in this manner. i did answer the high priest and chief pharisee of this board in that manner when he sought to interrogate me. >> I am new to Christ, but I do know you are not Him and when you answer me with His quotes, it is hard to understand what point you are trying to make. << once again i don't think you are painting an accurate portrayal of our discourse. have a great week, ok?
