I am saying that Kerry voted for many cuts

I think what you should be saying is that no matter what Kerry does he won't satisfy anyone in the GOP. He gets labelled for being a "tax and spender," and then, when he votes for budget reductions, he gets labelled as soft on defense. Is Rumsfeld is the only one who can make a proper decision on reductions?

I'll have to take your word about why the Cole was in Yemen. But the reasons for the bombing of the Cole go beyond budget cuts alone.

The Clinton military is fighting now. Doing a great job though the policy-makers are reckless idiots. Much of the defense cuts in the 90's were because of the end of the Cold War. There was a lot of expensive stuff we didn't need anymore. And it helped make the economy boom. Paying off debt and not spending too much works.
