You better be enjoying this, because convincing her of anything is a lost cause. Her mind's made up; don't confuse her with the facts.

None are so blind as those who will not see.

Here are my guesses:
She's a twenty-something who thinks that '90s bubble is normal economics (HEY! Did you notice? SHe FINALLY admitted it was a bubble! Progress!) and honestly thinks something has gone horribly wrong instead of just a return to normalcy. In spite of your figures that show that in fact historically current conditions aren't all that bad.

Or she's older but has ignored economics most of her life and just woke up in the middle of that bubble and thinks that it is the norm.

In any case, there seems to be a refusal to admit that 1.6% unemployment in SIlicon Valley is NOT the usual situation. It is in fact highly aberrant even for this nutty, cycle-ridden place.
