You missed the Americans spying on the UN security council story because most Americans never saw it due to it not being reported in the US media.

The American news reporting about Powell relying on plagiarized material didn't come out until about four days after it was reported in the international press, and even then we learned about it from talking head journalists on tv making reference to it. The story never made an initial showing in the print media of the U.S.
