Rummy is about as senior a "senior civilian" as can be found I hadn't seen this before. But the Apache is dead with Rummy as of now, I can tell you. They way he wants to fight is the way we fought in the north. And in the south, with air strikes during the sand storm. Rummy wants to go with emphasis on pinpoint air and lighter troups. I think he is right. The exact mix will have to be worked out. The days of loading heavy arty on ships and waiting three months to get it there are over. I am sure you read the series of articles in the LA Times last year about the problems with the Marine's VTO plans. I have been looking for an article on how the Harriers did in Iraq.
