Farm subsidies are never an issue but they ought to be.
190 billion a year just to keep prices high (I believe) and to also pay for farmers NOT to grow when need be. We really need to move beyond this. Also, consider much of that money goes into corporate agribusiness not the mythical family farm which politicians love to talk about. The worst of all is the sugar subsidy in Florida. No one dares take that cartel and they're right-wing Cubans attached to the anti-Castro crowd. They also pollute the Everglades.
