I suppose I knew that i was in the dark ages without broadband but it really is mindblowing the difference
makes me even madder that Comcast took so long to get it up for my area

I made my first computer trades maybe 10 years ago
non internet; a direct connection to Fidelity
a single 13" screen
and 2400 baud connection
if I remember right
quotes were static
got 50 qoutes a day then 5 added for each order entered
I use to enter tons of "fake" orders, then cancel them, in order to get more free quotes

as to monitors; I use multiple to have many things open at once plus I can supersize them so my old eyes can see

I had 4 on my old computer
will have 3 on this new one and at least for a while will use the old system with one screen for "non trading" stuff

I'd love to go pure flat screens
the prices on them have tanked but are still not "cheap"
it looks like 19's are $600-800 and 21's are $1200
the guy that built this new system has some used Sony 21"'s in his warehouse that I will look at next week
says they are in great condition and will take $100 for each
so I'm thinking of replacing my 19's with those for a while than later going to 21 flat panels when the price comes down to a range where I'm willing to spring for them
