Another 15 US soldiers died in Iraq today. But Bush says we must stay for the long hall and most of the Democratic candidates are saying essentially the same thing.

This is yet another sign of the perilous state of US democracy today. I would say that very few Americans want to stay in Iraq for a long time, but the political system is rigged so that they cannot express that opinion in the voting booth.

Does anyone think Bush would have won in 2000 if he had revealed his plan to attack Iraq? Lying, legalized bribery, demagogy, and deception have corrupted the political process beyond repair IMHO.
