re: had more enlightened policies,

re: if the RepubliCONS really are interested in dealing with WMDs and terrorists, why not deal with the ones in the former Soviet Union countries that had tons of WMDs at one point

Rock,

Re: Why are our priorities so focused outside of this country?

Tax laws are favorable to thieves related to the Bush White House who can avoid U.S. Federal income tax on money being currently transferred from the American taxpayer to the employees of Halliburton, Bechtel, U.S.AID, etc.

Wealth transfer from the American werkinstiff to the elite and quick witted is much more efficient without the nuisance of the IRS tax code.

Foreign actions are less traceable.

The policy isn't to create peace, its to create wealth by old-fashioned gun-running, warmaking and profiteering.

If the rampaging neocons really wanted to create wealth they would focus on bringing the US and other countries into the 21st Century, and make Democracy work, which is the greatest engine of prosperity ever devised.

Those who have made their fortunes as mechants of death, i.e. the Bushes, won't be convinced, however and must be removed from power.
