Oh please. The south used to vote democrat because more than a hundred years after the civil war they could still not come to terms with the fact that they lost and the slaves are free. So they would not vote for the party of Lincoln. During the last 20 years the have finally come to realize the inconsistency of voting for dixiecrats on the basis of what happened over 140 years ago, hence the rise of the republican party in the south. You might want to attribute that to Bush, but he had nothing to do with it.
