You can continue to allege

I wasn't alleging anything. I was merely adding to the list you started something that I thought belonged there. Are you disagreeing that it belongs there?

You started a list of things degrading to humanity. I think a reasonable starting point for humane treatment of people would be what we consider humane treatment of animals. Surely we would treat people at least as humanely as we treat animals. It would surely be degrading to humans to do less, wouldn't it? Do you have some basis for disagreeing with that?

"I have observed a lot of people who personify their pets and treat them like substitute children or family members."

Yes, the founder of your religion was of this belief.

From the Koran

When God Created the horse he said to the magnificent creature,

"I have made thee unlike any other. All the treasures of the earth lie between thine eyes. Thou shall cast mine enemies between thy hooves, but thou shall carry my friends on thy back. This shall be the seat from which prayers rise up unto me. Thou shall find happiness all over the earth and thou shall be favored above all other creatures. For to thee shall accrue the love of the master of the earth, and thou shall fly without wings and conquer without a sword."

The Prophet said: "He who reared a horse for the sole intention of using it in a Jehad, then he will be rewarded one virtue for each grain he gave the horse as a feed." (Ibn-E-Majah, Vol. 2, p. 172)
