China's distributors digging in at home

SHANGHAI, China — Facing intense foreign competition on their home turf, domestic Chinese distributors are fighting back.
Many domestic distributors are adopting the competitive tools of foreign rivals — design services and the acquisition of a greater number of franchised lines. Some larger distributors have embraced automated supply chain management systems for their internal operations, but feel little pressure yet to bring customers into an SCM network.
