In other words they weren't a threat- which was what was said. Perhaps the US thought they were a threat, in which case the US might want a reality check, but France clearly didn't feel threatened, and that's the crux of the matter. So if something is not a threat to France (according to them), but is a threat to us, by this rule we should take France's word for it and allow France to veto our foreign policy in the UNSC. No, thanks.
