I have my doubts that replacing Greenspan with someone else would make much difference as the Fed is owned and controlled by the member banks, not the US government.

Just think what horrible mischief would happen if Ben Bernanke, the Bush appointment to the Fed, were to become Chairman? Every child might soon become a billionaire rather than a simple millionaire.
