I think the key to the future outcome is sustained ASEAN growth near term. Without that, I suspect Fiat bullets will have been spent in vain. In this respect, Greenspan may be in the balcony watching the opera rather than directing.

I have no guns. I suppose I shouldn't say as much, lest I become an easy target. But then I have not much worth taking at gun point, and would probably share my pot of stew and campsite, if fellow sojourners could handle my cooking.

I do need to spend some time listening to Greenspan- it's been better than six months since I heard him allude to the potential impact of Natural Gas shortages on domestic US economics. I have little notion of what he's thinking now.
