Would you feel that way if the general in question had declared that there is no God but Allah, and that all who stand against Allah are doomed to have their butts kicked? If he didn't equate "those who stand against Allah" with all Christians, or all Jews, or whatever. Boykin said we're fighting Satan. If he had said "all Muslims serve Satan", then I would have thought, oh boy, here someone nostalgiac for the Crusades. But he didn't say that. I agree, Boykin had a right to say it, the media had a right to publish it, his superiors had a right to deal with it as they saw fit. It was still a stupid thing to say. It aids America's enemies and damages America's influence in places where that influence is already very shaky. That's not smart Oh, cry me a river. They seethe with virulent hatred of "Crusaders and Jews", and we're supposed to walk on eggshells.

Your aggression is misplaced. Jerry B has devoted his entire life to defending America from a front row seat. Saying he comforts the enemy is outrageous, ridiculous and pathetic. As for me...I stand by my earlier comment -- When an American in uniform exercises his rights to free speech or freedom of religion, it is a story only if you are bigoted, prejudiced or believe US military personnel have no rights.
