We export all kinds of crap to asia including OIL!
The world doesn't owe supply chain architects a living, Lizzie. This is the Real World. The fact that a barrel of US oil shipped to Japan does you no good is irrelevant. It does other US citizens good.

The issue is manufactured, high value goods especially technology which took an incredible dive in 2002. This is where we have people in the US working.
That is such crap it's hard to know where to start. We have people in myriad of occupations in this country. Agriculture is probably our largest export. We make cars. We make movies and music just 500 miles south of Silicon Valley. The fact that that is not where you are isn't the world's fault. If you want to change that, you must change yourself.

The dot-bomb tsunami went back out to sea and left you and your 20-somethings high and dry and you are still pining for The Good Old Days when you were surfing the wave. You think that bubble was normal economics. It wasn't. You are obviously either half the age you claim or were a hausfrau until recently. You ain't got a clue as to what the Real World is like. You thinks 1.2% unemployment and techies writing their own tickets is life as usual. Try 5% or 6% and you scramble for a slot. That's real life.

It's a tough world out there. Adapt or die.
