Personally I feel sorry for the kid but she has let me and many others down with this nude crap. But in response: 1. Most people are entering the service for the training and education and continuing education paid for by the military afterwards. Very few enter with the thought of making the military a career. The education GI bill if I'm not mistaken is a matched fund. In other words Jessica was donating her own money and it was being matched unless that has changed. 2. Everyone there that day was unable to fire because the M-16 is proving to be worthless POS in the desert. Constant jams. In fact I've read several stories of guys taking the AK-47 and leaving their M-16's in the truck because the AK will fire any time and any place. The kid that actually was the hero that day talked of having to repeatedly slam the bolt forward to get his rifle to chamber a round and had to do that after every shot. 3. There are some folks that dropped the ball here all the way up the chain of command. I expect there will be some hell to pay whether we hear of it or not. This is but one example of why I was and am against a co-ed force especially on lengthy deployments. Kids with raging hormones locked together for months at a time. That is no excuse, just fact. It's also much harder on the spouse at home knowing the husband/wife is deployed co-ed. Then stuff like this comes along and re-enforces their fears.
