You like Soros and agree with his views, so his millions are OK. You don't like Issa, you don't agree with his views or his recall efforts, and you question his motives and character, so his millions are evil. Ten, no, it doesn't boil down to if you like the person or not. The recall election was going no where until Issa stepped in with his millions. He thought he had the governship wrapped up; to whit, he literally cried when Arnold entered the race. He also has a shady record and has been arrested. I am not sure how even got to be a Congressman........I guess money does talk. Bottomline: Issa's and Soros's political involvement, their ambitions and their motivations are not at all the same other than they both are spending their own money. Now tell me how campaign finance reform, or any other law, is supposed to distinguish between the "good" money and the "evil" money. In any case, CPR is supposed to get well-financed "special interests" out of politics and keep them from influencing government away from the interests of the people. Think Issa wasn't representing the interests of the people? Davis just got recalled by a 55-45 margin. Think Soros is? Obviously he's representing your views. Remember.......I don't live in CA. I could care less who is governor of the state. So I don't distinguish between Soros and Issa for that reason. But I can distinguish between quality of people. I didn't always agree with all of Riordan's politics but I knew I was dealing with an honest, capable person and felt comfortable voting for him. Ditto for Bush I. I don't feel that comfort with an Issa......nor Bush II. As for campaign reform, its a joke IMO. ted
