I am not sure we can have full equity in this, are you? Really? Aren't the biological differences in themselves a problem? What if he wants it and she doesn't? As long as the mother has the right to choose whether to carry or not, or to give the child up for adoption (to him even?), then I have no problem with allowing the father the choice to opt out-- but only if the mother can also opt out.
