Hi ep,

1) asset allocation by financail planners to have a few percent in precious metals, and buying something besides the obvious NEM.

It could also be mutual fund monies being relocated from Putnam, Strong, etcetera over to Fidelity, Vanguard or T. Rowe Price, all of which own considerable Newmont shares in several different fund offerings...
