re: you cannot really tell much from rank and file sellers

Unless, of course, a hell of a lot of them sell at once as they did at inteL one year ago when Jerry was buying AMD shares.

Bill, Re: <However, when Jerry buys 300,000 and sells none, that means he feels it will go higher.>

While I could be wrong, I think that Sanders, as an insider, is subject to the one year rule.

Rule 144's Holding Period(s)

At its core, Rule 144 allows a holder of restricted
[And Control --TGP] stock to resell such stock upon the expiration of a one-year holding period. Until February of 1997, the holding period was two years. The foundational principle underlying 144's holding period is that securities acquired and held for one year were most likely purchased with investment intent and not with a "view towards distribution." The holding period begins upon the "date of acquisition of the securities." Securities are deemed acquired when the full purchase price or other consideration is paid. Securities issued, but not fully paid, do not start the 144 holding period until full payment is made.

The soonest he can sell, IMO, is November 23.

Any other opinions out there?

I suspect you cannot really tell much from rank and file sellers.

I'm not sure who you're referring to here. Rob Herb & William Siegle are executive & senior VPs, respectively, not what I'd call "rank and file". And Friedrich Baur is a director who apparently no longer has a position in AMD. Are you implying that trading by Sanders & Ruiz is all that matters? That sounds like wishful thinking.

On the other hand, it's often said that there are many reasons for insiders to sell, but only one reason for them to buy (on the open market)--because they think the stock will go up.
