What will Israel do in a few years when the young Arabs mature to the voting age?

Good question. Already the percentage of Arabs is double what it was thirty years ago. They will have to deal with the situation when they come to it. The Israelis are extremely aware of the tensions between wanting to have a democracy and a Jewish state. Most would gladly move toward Shimon Perez' vision of a Middle East Benelux. But that requires sane and civilized neighbors, and right now the Palestinians are neither. The Israeli Arabs, I should note, have mostly been keeping their heads down and staying quiet. They feel for their cousins the Palestinians but don't want to join them - Israeli rule, imperfect as it may be for an Arab, is far, far preferable to the mafia rule of the PA.
