"America, under Bush, is a danger to the world," he said. Then he smiled: "And I'm willing to put my money where my mouth is."

If a man is worth $7B and commits $15M (0.2%) of his net worth, I'm not sure I'd call that "putting his money where his mouth is".

I typically take a much larger percentage of my net worth to the casino for a weekend gambling trip. Still not much, but geez, 15M is totally immaterial to the guy.

I think he is just one more big-mouthed liberal, cut from the same cloth as Barbra.

It is also interesting he apparently was willing to spend $5B to "promote" democracy in the Soviet Bloc, but apparently doesn't think we should promote democracy in Iraq. I don't know much about the man, but I'd be willing to bet his $5 Billion was motivated by something other than his philanthropic desires.

Hi Tenchusatsu and Thread, the Super Fund Trust money will run out this year because the Republican Congress did not renew the law that requires corporations to foot the bill for Super Fund cleanups, according to a contact at the EPA. Many of the Republicans I know, are for this cleanup tax.
