the neocon-artists wrote it.
They made it up then "leaked" it as if it was a DoD sanctioned belief when it's just a fairytale.

Gee...al qaeda now in Iraq...I wonder how that could have happened with shrub's escapade turning the country into chaos with no internal controls and a porous border.

Because they're there NOW has no bearing on whether or not saddam had any connection with them. The saddam/al qaeda "connection" is a charade invented by the neocons for those with weak minds unable to separate propaganda from reality.
The reality is...there was NO saddam/al qaeda connection.

"The items listed in the classified annex were either raw reports or products of the CIA, the NSA, or, in one case, the DIA. The provision of the classified annex to the Intelligence Committee was cleared by other agencies and done with the permission of the Intelligence Community.""

Are you trying to believe that the statement says there was a connection? It does not.

"The classified annex was not an analysis of the substantive issue of the relationship between Iraq and al Qaida, and it drew no conclusions."

"Individuals who leak or purport to leak classified information are doing serious harm to national security; such activity is deplorable and may be illegal."
