You can thank lawyers and tons of lawsuits and declining quality of healthcare from rationed health care providers. And if you go from HMOs to Government, expect the quality to go down 5 more notches and even MORE lawsuits, and lawyers padding their pockets with 60% of settlements reached.

We all agree on the problem,now whats the solution? Bush has been trying to limit greedy lawyer lawsuits, change the patent laws on drugs. There really are only two options here, improve the privatization process or go to Socialized medicine. The second method is actually IMHO the easiest cause the govt can just WRITE THE RULES they way they want them, is it the best? I dont know. Generally speaking one gets the best service and most efficiency out of COMPETITION. Whats the thread think? jdn
