KC,

I'd really like to see Dean, once he's consolidated things a bit more, to start to present something similar to the UK's 'shadow cabinet' to the public so that people would be able to form an opinion as to what they are getting in for with a Dean Presidency. The other advantage is that having established a cabinet before the election is that Dean can hit the ground running and avoid the unflattering sort of start that Clinton was purported to have had by the media. Of course, the media was lying as always, but countering their lies still is a good idea.

I'm not sure why Clinton should have a role merely in the Middle East. Either Clinton*** or Richard Holbrooke should be Sercretary of State. Wes Clark should be Secretary of Defense. Joe Stiglitz for Treasury. Jimmy Carter could be the special envoy to the Israeli-Palestine peace talks.

***
Including Clinton here would help to lash him to the Dean cause. Helping to negate Hillary's plan to be the compromise candidate this July. If we can't get Clinton off the stage, and we can't, we ought to at least make him useful.

Bill Clinton is a stubborn man. He would work hard to put the Middle East on the road
to peace.
