ENERGY BILL: Wondering what came from all of those secret meetings Cheney had with the energy barons?

An Energy Bill that:
-Gives at least $50 Billion in subsidies to polluting industries like oil and gas
-Gives $50 Million for companies to remove trees, including the fire-resistant
old-growth forests, and burn them for energy
-Threatens water supplies by exempting all construction activities at oil and gas
drilling sites from certain requirements of the Clean Water Act
-Limits liablilty for MTBE producers who contaminate water supplies
-Rewrites existing clean air legislation forces those living in cities with unhealthy air
to breathe dirty air even longer
-Ignores climate change and does nothing to require measures to reduce dependence
on foreign oil
