Well CIM standards/requirements are to report in grams, PPB or PPM. It must first be available for vetting by these criteria, even of there is a reason to report it in oz's per ton as in to match previous work. So some companies choose to do it that way from the get-go.

PPB's correspond exactly to PPM's and grams per ton numerically so it works. 500 PB is exactly 0.5 grams per ton.
