JF, What exactly are you proposing instead of "containing" them? Not just N. Korea, but all of them?

Work with the free world and flex our muscles a little more. Call their crimes for what it is without regard to "appeasing" them or fearing their reactions. Make it known to others that we are not seeking Pax Americana, that we are actually trying to make the world safe for everyone who believes in the free marketplace of ideas.

Then give me something else to work with.

When the problem is so complicated that the solution isn't clear-cut, there isn't really that much any of us can work with. All we can do is stick to some consistent policies and some consistent beliefs. And the one belief we can all agree upon is making this world safe for the free marketplace of ideas. Everything else (exporting capitalism, exporting socialism, isolationism, exploiting our national interests) will continue to fall apart under the law of unintended consequences.
