Snowmobiles create a lot of damage to the wildlife, even more so if it's a not consolidated to one trail.

Prove it.

After a 13 year study paid for by taxpayers, the goverment came to the point of banning snowmobiles. The American public, to whom the park belongs, is in favor of blocking snowmobiles. And then came Bush and his affinity for special interests. But it is not a republican issue, as your post aptly demonstrates.

I have never been to Yellowstone in winter, but I cannot imagine the stunning beauty of the place and the Tetons and their natural winter silence gone with thousands of snowmobile riders racing through it. Not to mention the effect on flaura and fauna.
Snowmobiles run on two-cycle engines (oil and gas). They emit a lot of smoke and pollution.
Park rangers at the entry gates have had to wear gas masks at times and had fresh air piped in. Winters in Yellowstone are very severe...animals are under severe stress in this time period....survival is not assured. Yellowstone is a place of serenity and reflection. Not a beer drinking, hell raising place. Park officials have even said that Yellowstone is very likely not meeting environmental clean air laws. Notice the support from the enlightened party and the opposition from the neanderthal one whose only interest is the "special" variety.

Their fumes do damage to the trees and plantlife; the noise and running of them interrupts the feeding of the animals.

Besides, most snowmobile drivers are known to have limited IQs and that presents a danger to all of us. Are you one of them?

They want to set rules for us that don't apply to them.

I thought that's what Rush and Bennett do!
