There is no will for it, Karen. Combination of altruism - how can you turn them away! - and the need for somebody to clean the sewers. Add that to the Free Enterprise spirit of the illegals against a non-profit bureaucracy, and it is no contest.

No, they need to assimilate them. They used to be better at this, esp. France with her mission civilatrice, but this last generations pomo loss of faith in their own civilization has led to dreadful results.

It's harder for the European states, since they are ethnically based, not contractually based as America is. But they will have to relearn the trick, or watch their own cultures turn Muslim.

The difference is, the immigrants in Europe from North Africa etc. apparently have no interest in joining the national culture or working. You can't say that about most Mexicans coming to the US, for example.
