fancy cars, fancy cell-phones and fancy clothes.

Flash, flash, flash. The island you are on is fairly north. Got a southern or a northern cuisine? "Red Sauce" or French style?

From slicking back their hair, to wearing the most expensive designer shirt, they are into external signs of success.

Funny little habit that Kristel and I noted about Sicilian and Greek men that make them stick out like sore thumbs. A Sicilian or Greek man will always put his largest bills on the inside of his billfold, so that when he opens his wallet, the largest bills will be visible to those looking. If possible, they'll always have a hundred dollar bill in their wallet for the show. :)

Understanding Italian and Greek idiosynchrasies helped me in a big way in college when I tended bar. I learned the proper way to serve a Sambuca con Mosca, and it got me big tips every time. Serve up their Sambuca in a cordial, and as they watch drop three coffee beans in their cordial, saying "Health, Happiness, Prosperity" after each bean. I got a hundred dollar tip from one little old Greek gentleman, serving that drink the traditional way.
