We invaded on the basis of our best intelligence showing a threat to our national security that we could not afford to let fester. We also invaded because the long term continuation of the embargo, which was inadvertently killing thousands of Iraqi children, was untenable. We also invaded because the Ba'athist regime was one of the most brutal that we were aware of. We also invaded because it would alter the political calculus of the Middle East, and make movement towards peace and stability more possible. We also invaded because there was evidence that Iraq was forging a relationship with Al Qaeda, and we could needed to nip it in the bud........
