Arch--think about it for a minute--how can weather events be random when they are part of an environmental system--I emphasize--"system" ? Turning the page on the calendar is a discrete event but a mere human artifact and totally irrelevant to the natural world. We invented the season designations--Mother Nature doesn't care. -- Frank
