Wily,

You should download Ace Utilities and run it regularly. At least twice as often as you defrag. I run it daily. It is free for the first 30 days but then it will cost you like $24 to keep it. You will keep it.

It will clean out the registry in mere seconds and keep your history in check. It will also dump junk files and cleanout your IE history files. It also has a nifty uninstaller that will show more programs than windows will. It also has a neat shredder. I trust it fully.

When you download it and run it for the first time, it will amaze you with the sheer volume of files it will ask you to dump. As long as you do not run it in "Expert" mode you can safely dump everything it suggests.

Your computer will thank you for the relief.
