I think that is what really piss's them off. They know there is no way to spin this as a publicity stunt.

They were afraid for his security. So nobody knew. But they made sure to have plenty of cameras. Did you see how he made sure to pose for cameraman while holding the turkey plate. Btw, I also think it was a nice gesture to visit the troops. But to believe that it was not also politically motived is pretty naive, IMHO. Imagine what you would be saying now if it was Clinton doing that. I would say the same: PR, PR, PR, ...
