I suspect whoever the dem candidate is amasses a campaign fund close to Bush's.

The anti-Bush sentiment in the U.S. is stronger than that against any President I've ever seen in an election campaign. Nixon got a free ride in 1972. The public was tired and frustrated with the Viet Nam debacle, but Nixon was able to lie about a peace scheme and cheat the public.
And the public ignored the Watergate break-in.

I don't think we are as naive, or as exhausted as a peace movement this time around. And the threat to our democracy seems exponentially more frightening with Bush than it was with Nixon.

It shows Bush vulnerability, but will be a fascinating lesson on how they attempt to fool a country will well-funded lies.

So far they've felt free to use whatever lies can get a rise on Frank Luntz's instant-response meter, and control the fallout.

There's a thousand examples, but whatever happened with Robt Novak's story of the treasonous exposure of Wilson's wife... nothing. Budd Saunders' attitude is becoming less unusual

"The leak and Novak's story were designed to discredit Wilson and were typical Republican dirty politics. They will do anything, including assassination, to gain and maintain power.

I have asked many Republicanss and written others about something they avoid. Quote: "My grandfather made all the money, I didn't have to do anything," George W. Bush. Grandaddy made the money by trading with the enemy, Nazi Germany. My question: Is trading with the enemy treason? Answer yes or no. No equivocation. Just yes or no. Republicans just stare and start talking about the weather."
