The only place where such hate enters is when we are dealing with those individuals who lack normal human faculties and are not restrained by normal compassion or sensitivity--the Dahmlers and such. I could say that I want to see them suffer; but I cannot truly believe it. What I do want is their claws removed and their removal from society. I have no more need for their suffering than I would for the suffering of a rabid dog.

EDIT: In thinking it over...I have never really had truly unspeakable acts commited against loved ones. I guess I can see how people could revert to sheer emotion--eschewing rational approach. But one would hope to avoid reducing life to the level of those whom we can only pity. If we adopt the response of the ignorant or insensate, then how are we different?

"...dropped off on a barren island with rapine monkeys and it would be hilarious"

I would not use "rapine" as an adjective. May you suffer deeply for such thoughtlessness...

Did you make that term up?
