True and not true. The changing rules sure didn't affect the permanent staff, even though they produced jack. You're right about the Darwinian stuff and I guess I've become a good ratter. But I had a lot of good ideas in the field I was in. Nobody was interested in funding them. It P'd me off the staff could drift from day to day, getting drunk at lunch, and since it was a government lab, nothing happened to them. The scientists who were exploiting the Rooskies always had dough for foreign travel. Their own. I guess I was jealous (maybe still am). CD
