It will have to get to the point that all CDMA phones sold in China are 1X and all 1X phones have GSM. Just like they will all have Brew, GPS and etc. GSM has to become just another standard feature. Just as when digital first came out, you got amps with whether you wanted it or not or whether you knew it or not.

I don't see WCDMA or DO being a hinderance to GSM becoming a commodity feature on CDMA ASICs since I believe both combos are currently on Q's chip road map.

TD-SCDMA is another story since the chips have yet to fall into place on this issue.
