03/03/03 Koala Announces Closing of a Letter of Intent With Latin 3G

TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 3, 2003--Koala International Wireless, Inc. ("Koala" or the "Company") (KIWI - news) announced today the closing of a Letter of Intent to distribute its device through Mexico with Latin 3G, an independent gateway, distributor and content aggregator based in Mexico, to provide value added services for the wireless market in Mexico & Latin America (www.latin3g.com).

Latin 3G's ("Client") responsibilities will be to: actively participate in launch and promotional activities to potential users of the Koala services and products; promote project related Koala services and products on all communications media already used by the Client; provide all rights, tools, information or services to Koala required to set up and operate its services and products in Latin America; add the Koala services and products distribution channel to the advertising agreements in place with the Latin 3G customer base of more than 25 millions mobile subscribers in Mexico; and finally, distribute Koala services and products in as many point of sale outlets as possible.

Miguel Caron, President of Koala, said: "Mexico has been an attractive market for us since it has over 30 millions subscribers. Telcel alone has over 20 million customers still using TDMA technology over a wireless network that has been upgraded to GPRS. Latin 3G is the key to helping us capture some of the migrating customers with our device."

About Koala: Koala is developing an International Mobile Virtual Network Operator (IMVNO) platform to allow the delivery of voice, data and Short Messaging over multiple networks. Concurrent with the IMVNO development, Koala is pursuing the development of applicable devices to serve the network subscribers. The IMVNO strategy will enable subscribers to access the Internet, play and store MP3, utilize existing applications including calendaring, contact management systems, email and Short Messaging and additional functionality, some not currently available in the marketplace.
