Lizzie is it possible that human waste, er I mean resources are being replaced because they were never needed in the first place? Is it possible that managers are now doing what they have done for a hundred years and are managing again and are getting rid of the rungs below them they created during the good times since they now realize they are a luxury they can no longer afford?

That is what I am seeing.

The ones really taking the hit are the paralegals, human resources, accountants etc. who are being replaced en-masse.

Not intending to argue with you, but do you have a link to any info re: paralegals being replaced en-masse? I'd be interested in that info.

By computer programs that increase productivity and reduce their ranks?

If you're good at what you do, by your own reasoning there are a lot of unemployed people who have you to thank.
