You trust what the commander is saying. I do not. His job is to paint a positive picture of his team and he is doing just that. You and I don't have to buy that lock, stock and barrell. You have to parse, analyse and look at the situation. All I can see is only a small portion of Kabul is well defended. The rest is pretty much open. Lot of weapon proliferation is taking place, lot of opium is being grown (indicative of lawlessness and revenue stream for Taliban). Finally OBL and M M Omar are on the loose.
