Democrats' 2004 Battle Plan Against Bush Includes Effort To "Maneuver Around The New Campaign-Finance Law By Redirecting Now-Banned Big Donations Away From The Democratic Party To A New Set Of Groups That Will Coordinate Attacks On Mr. Bush." DEMOCRATS CONCERNED ABOUT DEAN'S WEAK FOREIGN POLICY

Rep. Martin Frost (D-TX) Said Dean Not Credible On National Security. "The point is that we need a candidate who is credible on national security. People are concerned about their security here in the United States, and they are concerned about our position in the world. I think that Howard Dean has the appearance of being another McGovern." (MSNBC's "Buchanan & Press," 6/20/03)

Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry Concerned Dean Out Of Mainstream On Defense. "Some Democratic governors share concerns ... that Dean's opposition to the war in Iraq threatens the party with a landslide defeat, if he is the nominee. Oklahoma Gov. Brad Henry said, 'I fear that if we nationally nominate a candidate who is too far to the left, we'll have less of a chance of winning. We need a more moderate, pro-defense candidate.'" (Dan Balz and David S. Broder, "Governors Delay On Dean," The Washington Post, 8/20/03)

Gary Hart Relates Dean's Lack Of Foreign Policy Experience. "Howard Dean, former governor of Vermont, lacks crucial defense or foreign policy experience. ... Dean, the former Vermont governor, is so inexperienced on defense and foreign relations that before his first trip to Israel in January, he called Hart and said, 'Gary, what do I do?' Hart said." (Michael Booth, "Hart Declines To Enter '04 Race," The Denver Post, 5/7/03)

Hardly a valid source, Shep. Dean ought to open his records so we can see the truth (grin). This will be a very weak point for Dean if he lets things stay put for too long.

Although I give no relevance to a comparison done purely for what IMHO is POLITICAL SATIRE, truth is Dean appears to have done a good job in New Hamshire BUT please dont compare NH to Texas. I have spent a good bit of time in both states. NH is relatively a BREEZE to govern. It is small, indiginous well educated population. Texas has many problems totally beyond the Governors control starting with INCREDIBLE illegal immigration and a VERY huge state not only in population but in land mass. I can assure you that IF the election were decided PURELY by TEXAN VOTERS Bush would WIN IN A LANDSLIDE so the TEXANS dont have a problem with him. jdn
